Cambridge U.CDIO Introductory Workshop
20 May 2004
Buckingham House, New Hall College, Cambridge University
Cambridge, England

CDIO is an innovative educational framework for producing the next generation of engineers. It provides students with an education stressing engineering fundamentals set in the context of Conceiving - Designing - Implementing - Operating real-world systems and products. CDIO was developed with input from academics, industry, engineers and students. It's universally adaptable for all engineering schools. CDIO Initiative collaborators — engineering schools throughout the world — are adopting CDIO as the framework of their curricular planning and outcome-based assessment.

The CDIO Introductory Workshop introduces faculty leaders from leading UK universities to CDIO and encourages them to consider implementing educational change based on the CDIO framework.

Note: The CDIO Introductory Workshop is preceeded on 19 May by the Cambridge-MIT Institute/LTSN Workshop The Conflict Between Standards and Innovation in Engineering Education. The meetings on the 19th and 20th will be held in the same location, and all are encouraged to attend both days. For agenda and other information on the 19 May meeting click here.
