Biography
Clive Ferguson is coordinator of a new BEngTech program with an emphasis on experiential and project/problem based learning. Special CDIO features — supported by the South East Melbourne Manufacturers Alliance — include a 1st year design/build industry project, industry project based learning, and an industry capstone project.
Clive was Program Director (undergraduate) at Deakin where he pioneered internet based laboratories. He is author of Developing Attributes in Australian Mechanical Engineers and an active researcher with numerous publications in mechanical and materials engineering education.
Previously he had a diverse international mechanical engineering career in roles such as fluids research officer, stress engineer, altitude test engineer, mechanical department manager, and project manager, spanning industries including aerospace, marine, oil, and aluminum.
He has a BEng (hons) Liv (1971); MSc Cran (1973); and DTech Deakin (2007). He is an invited Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Australia (1993) and Fellow of the IMechE (1996).
